Last weekend, our whole family trekked out to Ligonier Camp for a reunion of staff who have worked there.
Ligonier was a truly formative place in Tom and I's faith development and it is amazing to see how the place has grown and changed. It is even more amazing to see the faithfulness of God in changing and impacting lives through the camps' ministry. Our kids also enjoyed being there, participating in the songs, seeing some of the new additions to the camp, and eating the big ol' lunch.
We had a wonderful time seeing good friends like Sharon Brown,
Julie Nan....
and Dan and June Ring, camp directors for many years, who in my opinion, look the same as they did 20 years ago...
I have so many stories of Dan, and how he helped me and the other counselors to "let our yes be yes, and our no be no". I teased him about his lack of compassion at times, but he was an excellent leader for me and the rest of the staff.
After the wonderful reunion, we took our kids to one of our favorite haunts, Linn Run State Park, for a short hike...
and many trips down the natural rock water slides... good times.
At the end of the day, we sure were tired....but we had great fun.
Sound fun! I wish we could have come...
