I could probably write a book about our amazing trip to Maine this summer, but I have to write about how shockingly good our car trip was.
We were brave and embarked on a a car trip that was routed from Pittsburgh to Mt. Desert Island, Maine to Yarmouth, Maine- to Rochester, NY and back to the 'Burgh.
Yeah, we had some crying and fussing, but we had some fun times, too.
We listened to the "Penderwicks" played many rounds of "I am going on a picnic and I am taking a....", read books, colored, played action figures, made two forts with blankets in the car, (for real), and watched a couple of movies.
I was delighted that my children (and dear hub) let me read 2 books and that Sam was very adept at our side of the road potty stops (nice having a boy).
In fact, most of the frustration with the car trip was heavy traffic, not the kids. Maybe we have entered a new era? Is it now time to travel cross country-maybe hit Yosemite? Probably not, but after 1800 miles I still like my kids, and that is a good sign. Enjoy this movie celebration of our first leg-800 miles and only 30 to go to Someville, Maine. It will make you smile, or really, really glad that you weren't in the car, too.
This is hilarious-love it
